Grand Theft Auto VI is finally getting close.
After years of rumors, leaks, trailers, delays, and speculation, Rockstar Games has now revealed a huge amount of official information about the next Grand Theft Auto — including a new release date, pricing, pre-orders, characters, locations, editions, and an extended look at actual gameplay.
Here’s everything officially confirmed about GTA 6 as of September 2026.
When Does GTA 6 Come Out?
The current official release date for Grand Theft Auto VI is November 19, 2026.
GTA VI was previously scheduled for May 26, 2026, but Rockstar later delayed the game again. Take-Two’s latest financial reporting still lists November 19, 2026 as the launch date, so that remains the date to watch.
The game is currently scheduled to launch on:

- Xbox Series X
- Xbox Series S
Rockstar has not announced a PC release date at this time. The company’s current official platform information only lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Who Are the Main Characters in GTA 6?
The story centers primarily on Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
The two appear to have a crime-partner relationship with obvious Bonnie-and-Clyde influences.
Lucia Caminos
Lucia has become one of the most talked-about GTA protagonists yet.
Rockstar says she grew up learning to fight from her father and eventually ended up in Leonida Penitentiary after fighting for her family. After getting out of prison, she becomes determined to build a better life and is willing to take serious risks to get there.
Her relationship with Jason appears to sit at the center of the story.

Rockstar Just Released an Extended Look at GTA 6
One of the biggest GTA VI updates arrived on August 27, 2026.
